JP Maurice - Runaway

Runaway is the latest single from Vancouver musician JP Maurice’s forthcoming album Pressure Makes Diamonds (out on Smol Dog Records November 2). The song is more stripped down production-wise than the rest of the album but establishes itself as a dominant rock song that begs to be turned up to 11. Drums from Nick Petrowich (Bend Sinister, Willhorse) lend to the driving pace of the song and the amount of cowbell in the second verse would cure Christopher Walken’s fever. Lyrically the song is an ode to the pretentious nightlife scene witnessed by Maurice in his 20’s that anyone living in a metropolitan city can relate to.
